Dr. Tinlin always felt destined for a career in healthcare, though, like most people, he initially thought of healthcare professionals as those who work in hospital settings. His path to chiropractic began when a friend introduced him to a local chiropractor — a meeting that sparked his curiosity and led him to seek out a family friend who practiced chiropractic back in his hometown of South Bend. When that chiropractor delivered his first spinal adjustment, the experience was truly empowering. Amazed at how he felt, he developed an insatiable desire to understand what chiropractic is and how it works. That same chiropractor would go on to become his professional mentor. Just four months later, Dr. Tinlin enrolled at Palmer College of Chiropractic, where he discovered that chiropractic offered a truly unique and powerful approach to healthcare unlike anything he had encountered before.
The fundamental premise Dr. Tinlin subscribes to is the body's innate ability to heal itself when the proper environment is established. He was amazed by the unique relationship between the brain and the body and how disrupting that connection made people vulnerable to dis-ease. He evaluates every patient and identifies where potential interference is harbored, then locates and eliminates it. Dr. Tinlin is committed to helping his patients heal effectively by formulating an accurate diagnosis via a thorough history, detailed evaluation, and the utilization of state-of-the-art equipment and techniques. His goal is to help people get off chronic use of prescription drugs whenever possible and to help avoid surgery if he can. Dr. Tinlin wants to help people live longer and function optimally for as long as possible.
One of the best experiences of his life was when he was in chiropractic school, when he had the incredible opportunity to travel to Brazil through a student clinic work program. During his time there, he treated many people with diverse clinical presentations. It was a very rewarding and extremely humbling experience as he was able to deliver the gift of chiropractic to the underprivileged world.
In his time away from the practice, he loves spending time with his family. His wife, Elizabeth, is a nurse at Norton Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Together, they have three beautiful children: his oldest daughter, Palmer, and his twin boy and girl, Parker and Sydney. Ever since moving to Louisville, Dr. Tinlin has completely fallen in love with the rich history and unique culture of Kentucky and has truly made it his home.

What We Believe
There’s more to health than not being sick. Being pain-free is a great objective, but the presence or absence of pain is a poor indicator of truly vibrant health. Health is a state of wholeness in which all bodily parts are present and functioning at 100%. It is the sole purpose of the brain and nervous system to control and coordinate the function of every cell, tissue, organ, and system of the body and to adapt the body to its environment. Physical, chemical, and emotional stresses beyond what the body can adapt to set the stage for disease and infirmity, with pain being the last symptom to show up and the first one to go away. We believe healing begins from within, and we use many time-tested chiropractic methods to address joint dysfunction, correct imbalances, and restore health. We believe that the best thing we can do for you is to locate and eliminate as many issues as possible that are interfering with your expression of health, thereby creating the most conducive environment for your body to heal on its own.
Whether you are new to the services provided by a Doctor of Chiropractic or are familiar with the benefits of chiropractic and are seeking someone to help you, rest assured, Dr. Steve Tinlin will put your needs and concerns first. If he can help you, he will. If he cannot, he’ll give you his very best recommendation to find a solution.
